Ruby Joyce Jean

On July 29, 1948, a precious gift from God named Ruby J. McFan was born to Mr. and Mrs. George McFan in Kerrville, Texas. She was the youngest of her siblings. Her parents; sisters, Mozelle and Lucille; and brothers, Gee and Joseph all preceded her in death. Ruby was a person with many talents. Her love for poetry began in elementary school as she wrote for programs and other occasions. She attended Webster High School and graduated in the Class of '67. She was an Educator and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Grambling State University. Ruby continued her education by receiving a Masters of Science Degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She was a member of Hope Church until her health declined under the Leadership of Pastors Thaddeus and Desiree Eastland. Ruby's greatest joy was helping others and that compassion led her to mentor many. She remained a classroom teacher throughout her career because she felt she was most needed there.

Ruby met the love her life, Mr. Larry Jean, and was later married on December 23, 1972. To this union two children were born, Christopher (Evangie) and Angela (Clinton); and grandson, Clinton Henry, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Larry; her children; grandson; three sisters, Pauline (E.K.), Elizabeth and Mary Ann; brother-in-law, Ronald Jean; two sister-in-laws, Normia Jean Jackson and Nettie Anderson; and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation for Ruby will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park South Funeral Home. Funeral service to celebrate the life of Ruby J. Jean will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Committal service will follow 2:00 PM Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
