Eddie Lee Brooks

On November 17, 1953, Eddie Lee Brooks was born to T.M. and Pearl Brooks in Memphis, TN.

Upon graduating from Capleville High school, Eddie worked various jobs. He later began his career with FedEx in 1979, where he held various positions and received several safe driver awards while working there until his retirement in December 2019.

Eddie moved to Texas in 1984 and shortly thereafter met Brenda Lavergne. They enjoyed nearly 40 years of courting and marriage together. Eddie and Brenda relished their many trips together. They traveled across the country and abroad prior to and after Eddie’s retirement. He especially enjoyed spending time fishing, grilling, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. You could often find him planning a trip to a local hardware or auto parts store because he was a very hands-on DIY kind of guy. Eddie loved his family dearly and used his last breathes expressing his profound love and affection.

Eddie is preceded in death by his Mother, Pearl Brooks; Father, T.M. Brooks; Daughter, Olivia Battle (Craig).

He leaves behind his loving Wife, Brenda Brooks; Son, Eric Brooks (Onjeinika); Daughters, Chisa Love, and Kandis Brooks (Jess); Sisters and Brothers, Elaine Lucas (Lennell), Mamie Brooks, Angie Brooks, Shirley Savage (Howard) (Deceased), Vernon Brooks (Olivia), T.M. Brooks, Jr., thomas Brooks (Venita); Grandchildren, Khalen Love, Kamryn Love, Mekhi Love, Dennis Love, Lainey Brooks, Lauren Brooks, Orion Brooks, Anthony Battle, Christian Battle, Kasen Franklin; Great granddaughter, Delilah Love Oliver, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation for Eddie will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park South Funeral Home, 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, TX 77584. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 31, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, TX 77584. A committal service will occur Friday, January 31, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Paradise Cemetery South, 2237 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581. A repast will occur Friday, January 31, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Quail Run Community Center, 16748 Quail Park Dr, Missouri City, TX 77489.
