I wish I had a single story to sum up Scott and what he meant to me, but instead I simply see him sitting tall and peaceful, with his infectious smile, in the front of the yoga studio. We practiced together for so many hours at Pralaya. I feel so grateful for each one. He was such a fierce friend and human, in the gentlist way possible. Sending love and peace to Karma and all who knew and loved him.

Scott was my yoga teacher and friend at Pralaya Studio. He always had a kind word of encouragement and was quick to smile. I enjoyed his teachings, his humor and his deep warmth for humanity.  His spirit was a bright light even on a dreary day. 

 I was very saddened to read of his passing and want to convey my deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones. Please know I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

The first time I had lunch one-on-one with Scott, we got into -- no surprise -- a conversation about god. It was at Cafe Brazil, and there was a table of four guys, probably in their twenties, sitting next to us. I noticed one of the guys couldn't help but eavesdrop -- he was way more interested in our conversation than that of his friends :) Both Scott and I smiled. His beam made mine even brighter. Always.

Scott will be so missed by Marianne, myself and anyone that were fortunate enough to share time with him. 
He had a contagious warmth and sincerity. His yoga discipline as an instructor and practitioner showed, in his mental and physical strength. 
On one of the many times we got to spend time, a group of us found ourselves kayaking at Lake Georgetown. Scott was on a 12' kayak and had Jason L's son, Cohen on the back. For whatever reason, the kayak took on water to the point that it settled so that you could not see it anymore. (they have Styrofoam in the stern and bow so they won't totally disappear.)  So the appearance was, Cohen sitting on the water with Scott standing straight up paddling. To move that much water and a boy while standing and paddling is, I think, an example of remarkable strength.  Did I forget to say, Scott was clothed in a full length white, muslin robe and with the long hair, almost started a cult. 
Another time, Marianne and I were in NOLA and either Mama or Kayce told us the Clarks were there also. We hunted them down and we went to the restaurant, Bacchanal and spent a full 4 1/2 hours enjoying ourselves. I am sure I could go on a about this wonderful man and will miss him. 
We are going to miss him and are here for you, Karma.

Scott - A generous and gentle warm heart whose arms wrapped me as a friend of your amazing wife Karma, my colleague and friend who I met over 20 years ago in Louisville. Your sense of humour, honest and humour character and pursuit of wellness and knowledge sharing  inspired me, and I am sure many many others. Despite last seeing you and Karma in Houston almost 15years ago before I moved, I am saddened to write this, but great-full for having such rich memories of Scott and the love he shared for Karma and the things that mattered most in life.

I met Scott several years ago at the tail end of a long journey with chronic pain. He was very gifted and helped me quite a lot! From there we connected and had really solid friendship. I very much enjoyed spending time with him, learning from him about healing the body and having wide ranging conversations. I saw him as an older brother of sorts and a kindred spirit. It was a shock to hear he’s gone and I’ll miss him terribly! My condolences to you all, I’m very sorry for your loss.

Scott was one of the first pillars of strength and guidance I met when I started on my yoga  path. Total beginner, myriad injuries and pain. I came into class where he taught at the time, and he took me under his wings. “Just put your mat down next to me”, he said with great love and kindness. “I’ll keep you safe”.

And He meant it. If he would spot me working hard and not breathing, he would tap me and say “you’re not breathing. That’s not Yoga, it’s something else”. 

After a few weeks at his side, one day he told me i could come to any level class and sit anywhere. “You know enough to keep your self safe”. 

I carry his soft gentle heart with me. May i be worthy to carry his light forward. 

Karma, may you know only peace and love. May you be supported and surrounded with light and peace on your path.

Such love came to this world through Scott! 
His abundant heart, his fullness of presence, his kind and generous understanding, and his wild wisdom are gifts he offered out, to so many of us lucky enough to know him. 
In our hearts, he remains. 
In ultimate love may he rest.

This image sums up the pure joy that being around Scott evoked in me and I thinks it's safe to say in everyone.  Scott was the brightest light indeed. And now he’s shining in everything. I’m so grateful to have known and loved Scott.
For his endless depth of compassion, empathy and ability to love. For his epic hugs. His passion. For all of the things he was tapped into that I did and didn’t understand. His loyalty, his capacity, his integrity, his otherworldliness. I’m so grateful to have known you Scott. You are SO LOVED.   May you soar in bliss my brother. Karma, may you forever feel completely supported, deeply resourced, nourished and loved. May your web of support be as vast and endless as Scott’s big heart and bright light.

Scott and his big heart of gold -- he was a kindred spirit and a soul friend.  His enthusiasm to bring goodness and joy to people's lives was infectious.  And he had a passion for sharing that joy with everyone he met.

We taught yoga and yoga teacher training together.  Those are just the logistics of how we knew each other.  Teaching, practicing and creating with him was always magical - like a vortex of energy where there was no space and no time - special moments to say the least.

Have a peaceful rest, brother.  I keep in my heart how special of a human being you were and I will see you again in the next lifetime.

I think a piece of my heart broke off. Scott was one of the absolutely best humans. I can say with total certainty that my life is better for having had the pleasure of knowing him. Kind, generous, thoughtful and an inspiration on how we should treat one another. I hope his soul is at peace and know he is watching over his loved ones like he has always done. I love you Karma and know I am with you sending you love and light.

A brother, a friend, a teacher, a creative collaborator, a seeker, a kind human: Scott was all of these things to me. 

In 2018 Scott organized, collaborated with  four of us Kitchen enthusiast, and led us to make the most delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 3 days; for 40 plus teacher training students.
Scott's  attention to detail and his care for every hand picked ingredient going into every meal was the way Scott did life: with reverence and devotion. I remember us giggling and watching  the students eat and change states off of the prana in the food that we made! It was magic; Scott was magic.                                                                      Rest Well and meet you in another lifetime brother.

I was so sorry to hear about Scott.   He was always very nice to me and treated Jamie and the boys well.   I pray that he rests in peace and you all find peace too.   My condolences.     Mary Dodge

The brightest Light I’ve ever known now shines no longer from his physical earthly vessel. My dearest Light has passed to the next forever. 

Scott’s Celebration of Life will be this Monday evening.  I invite all of you to celebrate him as you wish and join us if you can.  I also would be deeply appreciative if you would send me pictures of him for our memory book and celebration. It is my desire to share his Light through your memories. Scott was introduced to me by my friend, Justine Fanarof, when I started teaching at Pralaya. I have a vivid memory of his face during one of my yoga classes - eyes closed, pure delight in his smile. He made me feel welcome and valued. I will remember him always. My heart is with yours.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Scott’s family at this very difficult time. We are very sorry about the passing of Scott. He was one of the greatest people we met and got to know.
