Greeting her in Heaven are her parents Alphonse and Dora Watts and her sister Geneva and granddaughter Molly. Still loving her on this earth is her adoring and devoted husband of 60 years, Ken; 3 daughters, Kim (Daniel), Angela (Albert), Keni (Travis); 9 grandchildren, Dustan, Kayla, Kari, Albert (Camille), Monique (Ben), Jay , Harrison (Lindsey), Alex, Eli; 4 great grandchildren, Tori, Owen, Ruth and Elise. Also loving her on this earth, is a sister Nettie (Jessie), a brother Al (Lorretta), several nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “Dean” and a precious and loyal pup, Blondie.
Zena was a homemaker who enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren where she taught them how to play countless card games and made them Mickey Mouse pancakes on request! Memories that will live on with her daughters are the nights her and Daddy danced around the kitchen while doing dishes and the absolute love she had for him. She found and married her soul mate on June 22, 1963. They were inseparable, and she always wanted to be at his side. She patiently and eagerly awaits their reunion.
The most important thing about Zena was her unwavering faith. While we grieve for her on earth, we are reminded of this verse:
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. ”1 Thessalonians 4:13-18”
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15th from 9:00am until 11:00am at St. Paul Catholic Church. The funeral mass will follow afterwards at 11:00am that same day in the Church. A committal service will be held on Friday, February 16th at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Hessmer, Louisiana where she will be laid to rest.
