Sylvia was born August 14th 1956 in Jackson MS to Sylvester and Gladys Anne Macke. Sylvia is best known for her tenacity and grit. She was a successful traveling candy and snack broker in a male dominated industry. She was never afraid of a challenge. She loved flowers and was known for her green thumb. Sylvia knew how to throw a great party and loved to entertain friends and family. She loved animals, especially her faithful dog Brittany. Her greatest joy and accomplishment were her children Shannon and Tré. She could often be found sharing about their accomplishments with whoever would listen.
She is preceded in death by her beloved father, Sylvester Macke, mother, Gladys Anne Macke, and brother, Little Syl.
Sylvia is survived by her husband Lloyd McGowan Jr of Byram, 2 children, Shannon Pace (Preston) and Tré McGowan and 2 grand children Braxton and Greyson Pace, whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, followed by Rosary Services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Monday, January 9, 2023 at St. Peter's Cathedral in Jackson with interment afterwards at Pearson Cemetery in Pearl.
