Steven Douglas Groom

Doug was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on September 21, 1960 to Vicki Mills and Joseph Groom. He attended Harrison Central High School. Doug worked as a shipping supervisor and contractor for International Shipping Co., and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a beloved member of M.M.S.T.

Doug is survived by his wife, Rachel Groom; children, Josef Vlach (Brandy), Joey Groom, Rebecca Russell, and Marie Adkinson; siblings, Clay Groom (Elizabeth) and Sheila Maulding (Steve); grandchildren, Caleigh Groom, Christian Casaus, Destiny Keys, Joseph Groom, Madelen Russell, Carter Russell, Hunter Vlach, Ryder Vlach, and Owen Vlach; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vicki Mills Kent and Joseph Groom; daughter, Christine Groom; and son Matt Adkinson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, prior to the service.
