He was born on September 17, 1960 in Black Shear, Georgia to the late Prentiss Rash and Frances Lewis Watkins. Growing up, Robert worked in his father's body shop, learning the ins and outs of the trade. He was a man of many talents and worked in construction as well and as a truck driver until his children were born. Robert was a coach for youth soccer and baseball. He had a passionate spirit about him when it came to ball games and oftentimes found himself in the parking lot sitting atop his truck, still shouting along to the plays. Robert put his heart into everything; in his free time, he was an avid bowler and loved to do paint and body work on cars. Most of all, Robert loved his family. He adored his grandkids and went from mechanic to babysitter, happy to spend any moment with his precious babies.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his stepfather, Kenneth Watkins; stepmother, Dorothy Rash; and brother, William Earl Rash.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Terie Rash; children, Christopher Rash (Katherine), Jamie Neal (Micheal), and Brittany Shoemaker (Joshua); sister, Wanda Millis (Dwayne); brother, Kenneth Watkins, II (Bernie); grandchildren, Ezra Rash, Moses Rash, Jayden Neal, Tucker Neal, Cadence Neal, Shelby Neal, Cooper Shoemaker, and Gracelyn Shoemaker; and several dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
Robert will be so deeply missed.
