Visitation will be held 1:00-3:00pm, Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
He was born Wednesday, February 15, 1928 in Dudley, Missouri, a son of the late Frederick Ewer and Annie Harkey Ewer. Mr. Ewer was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II and the Korean War.
He was a member of Skyway Hills Baptist Church in Pearl. Following his marriage on January 2, 2004 to Barbara Sheffield Ewer, he attended First United Methodist Church in Brandon. Since his move to Alabama in April of 2012, Mr. Ewer has attended Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile.
Mr. Ewer was employed in airplane hydraulics with Eaton Aerospace (Vickers) from 1956 until his retirement in 1990. He then continued working sub-contracted for Eaton until 2012.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ewer, son, Robert Ewer, II, and grandson, Stephen Ewer.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his daughter, Sharon Mendoza and husband Nelson; daughter-in-law, Christine Ewer; grandchildren, Sherry Krusinski, Christina Tiffany, Matthew Tiffany, Robert Ewer, III, Byron Ewer and Krystal Ewer; and great-grandchildren, Rachel, Hannah, Sydney, Wyatt, William, Tyson, Ethan, Dakota and Joshua.
