Pauline was born on Sept. 4, 1931, in Pattison, MS, to the late Reverend L.T. Greer and his wife Eloise Nesmith Greer, where Pauline’s father was serving in his first Pastoral position.
The family moved to Boyle, MS, on her 4th birthday. Her father, Reverend Greer, always had trouble finding a pianist to enhance his ministry, so he decided his oldest daughter would take lessons and fulfill this role. From that point forward, Pauline began to become an accomplished instrumentalist and Reverend Greer never had to worry about having a pianist at his Worship Services again.
The family moved to Greggton, TX, where Reverend Greer was the Pastor at Greggton Baptist Church. It was here that Pauline graduated from Pine Tree High School and returned to Mississippi to begin her freshman year at Mississippi College. The following summer her family moved to Pearson, MS, now called Pearl, MS, where Reverend Greer had accepted the Pastoral position at Pearson Baptist Church.
In 1952 Pauline began her music career as a music teacher at Meadville School later called Franklin School in Meadville, MS. It was here where she met and married Walter “Mickey” Corban and they raised two sons, Kim and Clay.
The family moved to Pearl, MS, in 1971 when Mickey accepted a job with Mississippi State Department of Education and Pauline continued her music teaching career in Pearl’s school system until she retired in 1986.
Pauline played the piano/organ for several churches from a young age until she moved into Castlewoods Assisted Living home in 2020 where she still had occasion to play for the residents.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Mickey Corban; son, Kim Corban; granddaughter, Melissa Corban; sister, Silvia Greer Williams; and brother, Raymond “Butch” Greer.
She is survived by son, Clay Corban and wife Trish; grandchildren, Jason Corban, Kandice and Joe Fiello, Rachel Corban, and Tyler Corban; great-grandchildren, Giovanni and Agusten Fiello, Jaxsen Lott, Jordyn Lott, Jillian Lott, and Hendrix Corban; and brother, Billy T. Greer and wife Carolyn.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm, Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be at 11:00am, Monday, September 5, 2022, at the Midway Cemetery in Meadville.
