Paul was a longtime member of Parkway Pentecostal and a faithful servant of our Lord. As a young man he was not provided an opportunity for much formal education, but Paul was a smart man and a quick study. He placed great value on learning and studying the Bible and listened intently to his pastor’s messages and recordings of the Word being read aloud.
Paul loved people and they loved him. He enjoyed talking and visiting with young and old alike, and was respected and admired by his family, friends, church family, coworkers and neighbors.
Paul was a true outdoorsman and liked to spend his free time deer hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche Hopson; sons, Bryan Hopson (Alison), and Donald Hopson; daughters, Barbara Ramsey (Richard), and Hope Townsend; brother, Melvin Hopson (Libby); grandchildren, Emily Chapman, Hunter Hopson, Jessica Walton, Pamela Ramsey, and Amber Pinter; great-grandchildren, Payton, Rylee, Presley, Blaise, Lachlan, Timothy, and Roman; and a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Tim Monroe Hopson and Emma Whitehead Hopson; and son, David Binkley.
