Patrick Irl Pittman loving husband of 24 years and father, age 55, of Madison, Mississippi passed away Saturday July 24, 2021, due to COVID-19 complications. He was my heart and the love of my life-and will always be now and forever.
Patrick was a very gentle, hard working, kind hearted, generous man, who would treat everyone the way he wanted to be treated. He was always happy and in good spirits even in bad situations. He would always see the silver lining. Pat’s happy upbeat personality, and sense of humor was infectious. He would have anyone around him smiling and laughing and their bad day would turn into a good one.
If you met Pat you would never forget him. He always made an impression. There was a bright light that shined through Pat. He had a glow about him that separated him from everybody else. Pat stood out. He was a bright light in a dark world. Pat’s light warms your sole. Pat has touched so many peoples lives with his shining light just from his presence.
Pat was a big, broad, strong man with such a gentle Godly soul. You could not go anywhere with Pat without a lot of people going out of there way to speak to him or people who had met him before. He would do anything for anyone who needed help! He gave blood every month to help people in dire need.
Pat’s son Nathan was his side kick. They were inseparable. They did everything together including work. Nathan is Pat’s mini me. Even strangers would say to Pat “Man you can’t deny that one!” Patrick was an amazing father. Nathan is just like him. Nathan is kindhearted, sweet, gentle, extremely funny, and he will help anyone who needs it. Pat would talk about how proud of Nathan he was and how smart Nathan is and how much he loved him.
He loved his mother with all his heart. She was his hero! He learned everything he knows from her and his grandmother. Pat’s grandmother was a big influence in his life and he loved her dearly. Pat’s loving, gentle, kindhearted personality came from his mother Sue Champion and his grandmother Jewel Jones.
Pat started cooking at the age of 3 his mother and grandmother taught him everything he knew about cooking. He loved to barbecue especially with his new grill.
He loved and highly respected his father Ben Champion. He valued Ben’s opinions and guidance throughout his life.
Shannon Stringer his brother was very dear to him. Pat always talked about how smart Shannon is and about all the crazy things they did when they were growing up. He loved Shannon with all his heart.
Donnie Gomillion was Pat’s best friend and brother. He had a special place in his heart. Pat and Donnie grew up together and their friendship was still strong as adults.
Pat was always there if Donnie needed him and Donnie was there whenever Pat needed him.
Shannon Gomillion was also a close friend of Pat’s. She grew up with Pat as well. Pat would always light up telling crazy stories about things that happened in the past. He valued Shannon’s friendship. She was a sister to him.
Patrick and Shannon and Donnie would always talk about crazy things that happened when they grew up. Pat would have everybody laughing so hard! Donnie and Shannon’s son Donovan was our ring barer at our wedding.
Pat was a very hard worker and he worked with Charlie Rushing for over 20 years. Charlie was a close dear friend of Pat’s including Charlie’s wife Connie. Pat was Charlie’s best man and I was Connie’s maid of honor in their wedding. Pat loved them both dearly. Pat had so many friends and people who he loved I cannot include them all.
