Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2:00pm, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
He was born Monday, June 29, 1931 in Kilmichael, Mississippi, a son of the late Ulysses Grant Boatman and Mary Dale Cross Boatman. Mr. Boatman was a member of Lake Harbor Baptist Church in Brandon and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was employed with Knox Glass until their closure. He then established Pearl Insulation which he operated for 35 years, and then he farmed soybeans for more than 5 years. He enjoyed gardening and farming, but his greatest happiness was found in spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Wade Boatman, in October, 2013.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Louise Herrington Boatman; son, Wayne Boatman (fiancée, Debbie Elder and daughter Samantha Rupe); granddaughter, Sydney Boatman; brother, Rocky Boatman; sister, Vera Bain; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Betty and Herbert Washington and Charles Mosley.
Memorials may be made to the Lake Harbor Baptist Church Building Fund.
