The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Visitation will be held again from 12:00pm until 2:00pm Friday, February 3, 2023 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm that same day in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place afterwards at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
Nelda was born January 19, 1931 in Carthage, Mississippi to the late Benjamin Ratcliff Crawford and Golda Barfoot Crawford. She was preceded in death by her eight brothers and six sisters.
On July 12, 1952, Nelda was united in holy matrimony to her love, David Clay Hellums.
Nelda leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband of 70 years, David Clay Hellums of Pearl, Mississippi; one son, Rodney Clay Hellums (Marie) of Brandon, Mississippi; two daughters, Jean Hellums Williams of Jacksonville, Florida and Joyce Hellums Jerrolds (Don) of Florence, Mississippi; grandchildren, Dewayne Hellums, Alicia Jerrolds, Jessica West, Jared Jerrolds, Jonathan Jerrolds, Ryan Hellums, Amber Hellums Williams, Alison Hellums Myers; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
