The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Thursday at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am that same day in the funeral home chapel with private burial service.
Martha was born February 9, 1939, in Oak Grove, Louisiana, to Clyde Cecil Thompson and Martha Lucille (Couch) Thompson. She was a 1957 graduate at Nevill High School. She married Cecil Ray Smith on October 18, 1963, in Hinds County, Ms. She worked as a Department Director over Central Sterilization at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Ms. Martha truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family, snacking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Clyde and Lucille Thompson, her brothers, James and Clyde Thompson Jr., and her daughter, Malinda Joy.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Smith, her two sons: Jimmy and Jeff Smith as well as her 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
