She was born September 29, 1935, in Lakewood, Ohio, a daughter of the late Rudolph Lanz and Marie Meixner Lanz.
Marlene was a long time resident of Bandera, Texas. She was very active with the Silver Sage Senior Center where she was loved by friends and fellow seniors. A true artisan Marlene expressed her creativity in many ways. She was a professional cake decorator for many years and also enjoyed crafting designs from plastic canvas needlework and cardstock. In her free time Marlene could be found reading her Bible, doing crossword puzzles, or talking on the phone with her friends back in Texas.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Edward Wersonske and their son Mark Wersonske, also her 2nd husband Stanley Johnson.
Survivors include sons, Richard Wersonske, Michael (Kay) Wersonske; sister, Marilyn (Emil) Zbin; grandchildren, Crystal (John) Sawczak, Bryson Wersonske, Braden (Amber) Wersonske, Mallory (Stevie) Jalnos, Austin Wersonske, Adam Wersonske, Avery Langley, and Eli (Alyssa) Langley; five great-grandchildren; niece and caregiver, Andrea Miller; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

In accordance with her wishes Marlene’s earthly remains will be cremated and scattered in the places she loved most, by the people she loved most- her family.
