June graduated from Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, TX in 1953. She attended Navarro Junior College and then in 1958 graduated from Mary Hardin-Baylor College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She married L.L. (Van) Davis on December 21st, 1957. They were married for 32 ½ wonderful years before he passed away in 1990.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Ercelle Payne; her sister Jenny Lynn Klinke; and her husband, Dr L.L. Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Bush (Mike) of Laurel, MS; two sons, Michael Davis (Jan) of Westfield, Indiana and Steven Davis of Pearl, MS; granddaughters, Kathryn Davis (Matthew) of Laurel, MS, Jennifer Ishee (Adam) of Laurel, MS, and Nichole Mercier (Austin) of Madison, MS; step-granddaughter, Haley Harris (Donny) of Westfield, Indiana; step-grandson, Taylor Wilson (Kay) of Madison, MS; great- grandchildren, Thomas Wray and Joshua Davis; and step-great-grandchildren, Tatum and Lake Harris and Hannah and Hayden Wilson.
Mrs. Davis truly loved the Lord with all of her heart and stated in her testimony that her faith grew even more after the loss of her husband. She wrote a book called “Growing Through Grief…Learning to Cope (Especially for Women)”. June wanted to help others with the grieving process and as fate would have it we now cling to her loving words. She was always willing to help in any way she could through decorating any event, volunteering her time, and giving back to her community. One of her favorite things to do was sing in the choir at First Baptist Church of Brandon, MS.
Visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:30pm, Friday, May 14, 2021, at at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, with graveside services to follow at 2:00pm at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
