Ms. Phillips was born on February 4, 1968, in Jackson, MS, the daughter of Wade Rawson and the late Peggy Brewer Rawson. A graduate of the Pearl High School class of 1986, she also graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College in May 1990. She worked for 15 years as a pediatric nurse before working for the past 18 years in hospice care and nursing homes, therefore providing care for patients in all phases of life throughout her career. She cared deeply for her patients and residents, and providing them with comfort and nurturing care was her life’s work. When not providing loving care to patients in need, she enjoyed reading, watching movies, and spending quality time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Tanner Wade Phillips of Atlanta, GA and Grant Russell Phillips of Denver, CO; father, Wade N. Rawson of Pearl; brother, Jeremy W. Rawson of Pearl; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Brewer Rawson, of Pearl.
