Memorial services will be announced.
She was born on March 2, 1954 at the Union Hospital in Union, Mississippi to Joe Rean Buchanan and Frances Estelle Conn Buchanan. Her early life was spent in Philadelphia, Mississippi until moving to Newellton, Louisiana at the age of ten. After graduating high school Judy went to college in Monroe, Louisiana before attending trade school. She then moved back to Mississippi. It was while working at the BIC factory that she would meet her beloved husband, Hugh. Judy worked at the State Hospital until the birth of their precious daughter, Lucinda. She then drove a school bus for Northwest Rankin before going on to be a bookkeeper at Jitney Jungle. Upon the opening of Walmart in Flowood, Judy was hired as one of the first employees and ultimately assisted with bookkeeping there as well.
In her free time, she could be found hunting and fishing. In addition, Judy was passionate about working on her personal vehicles until her health began to her decline - much to her annoyance. Judy's caretaking spirit in office management and in maintaining her automobiles also led her to acquiring many non-biological kids who lovingly referred to her as "momma" all the same.
Preceding her in death are her father, Joe Buchanan; mother, Frances Conn Buchanan; sister, Hazel Knight; and endearing husband of 34 years, Hugh Douglas Harding, whom she will be laid to rest beside.
Judy is survived by her adoring daughter, Lucinda Harding; Lucinda's fiancé, Jeremy Clark (when he introduced her as his future mother-in-law, Judy told him that he would not be her son-in-law, he would be her son); brother, Joseph Floyd Buchanan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
She will be so deeply missed.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.baldwinleepearl.com for the Harding family.
