Visitation will be 2:00-5:00pm, Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10:00am, Monday, November 4, 2019, in the funeral home chapel.
He was born June 22, 1939, in Tutwiler, Mississippi, a son of the late James Thomas Denley and Lennie Mae King Denley.
Joe owned and operated Capital Radiator Service in Jackson for more than 30 years. An avid motorcyclist, he owned several motorcycles throughout the years, including Honda Gold Wings, and was a charter member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. A true “man’s man”, Joe could do anything. He enjoyed cars, hunting, fishing, beer, the MS Braves, cooking, and his Tuesday night Poker games.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Allie Denley, and daughter-in-law, Leah Denley.
Survivors include wife, Betty Denley; children, Donna Denley Amos and husband John, Joe Trence Denley, Bruce Wayne Denley and wife Tina, Lisa Smith, Michael “Mikey” Wightman and wife Shelly, and Joey Wightman; sister, Dorothy Derrick; brother, Robert Lee Denley and wife Paula; grandchildren, Blake Denley and wife Sara, Tara Denley, Nicole Denley, Brandon Denley, Jonci Amos, Josh Amos, Bryanna Weems, Kayla Rayborn, Ben Wightman, Destiny Wightman, Jordan Wightman, and Tyler Smith; great-grandchild, Samuel Maddox Denley; nieces and nephews, Angela Howell, James M. Howell, Glenda Coats, and Larry Coats; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Bam, Lali, and Jake Howell.
