Junior was born September 28, 1957, in Philadelphia, Mississippi, a son of the late James Harold Alford, Sr. and Peggy Ann Hanna Alford.
Junior was a natural born businessman. For many years he was a top sales performer for Rhodes Furniture, followed by a lengthy career as a general sales manager with several area car dealerships. For the last several years he owned and operated Pawn Masters of Mississippi and took great pride in his work as a premium pawn broker. He was also a rare coin expert and experienced collector.
Junior’s outgoing personality and innate ability to see the good in people endeared him to everyone who knew him. His generous spirit enabled him to help anyone he knew to be in need, and his genuine love for people won him many friends who became like family.
In his free time Junior enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at the cabin, and riding his Harley. Junior was truly “young at heart”, and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife, Keisha Medice Alford; daughters, Katie Bell (Rocky), and Alayne Iskander (Andre); step-sons, Landen and Jacob Brousse; brothers, Jim Alford (Sherry), Jerry Alford (Beverly), Joe Alford (Bonnie), Jeff Alford, and Scott Alford; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Alford, Paige Jacks, Emily Jacks, Landon Swain, Frances Gilbert, and Dakota Alford; great-grandchildren, Asher Thomas, and Everett Linville; and “adopted family”, Colie Beard and son, Donte Grant. Junior also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlene Wright; father in law, Joseph Salvadore Medice, Jr.; sister, Cynthia Rayburn Alford; nephew, Rami Hausey; and grandparents, Rube and Ethel Mae Alford, and Jack Hanna and Pearl Hanna.
