J. W. Taylor, 86, formerly of Pearl, was born April 9, 1924 in Helena, Arkansas to Ollie Fredericks and Julius Wilson Taylor, Sr. He passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Retirement Home, Bossier City, LA after a short illness.
Mr. Taylor proudly served his country during WWII with the 10th Mountain Division of the Army.
He is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Long Taylor and daughter-in-law, Sarah Elliott Taylor.
He is survived by daughter, Julia Taylor Doolittle and her husband Jimmy; son, Charles Wilson Taylor; grandchildren, Michelle Doolittle Leachman and husband Michael of Baton Rouge, Kristen Doolittle Rieman and her husband, Jerimiah of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Elliott Wilson Taylor and Kylie Glynn Taylor of Bossier City; great-grandsons, Boden and Potter Rieman; brothers, Ray S. Taylor of St. Petersburg, Florida and Jerry E. Taylor of Brandon, Mississippi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are 2:00pm Sunday, January 16, 2011 in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Rev. A.V. Windham, a long-time friend, will officiate and Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home of Pearl will direct.

Mr. Taylor's children would like to express appreciation to the staff at VA Medical Center and the NW Louisiana War Veterans Home; and to Dr. Roy Fleniken, such a special man, whose compassion and kindness will always be remembered.
