George C. Tullos, 52, life-long resident of Pearl and member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, won a long suffering sixteen month battle with glioblastoma brain cancer when he went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2014.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00pm, Friday, December 19, 2014 and 9:00-11:00am, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Graveside services will follow at 1:00pm in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Raleigh.
He was born November 25, 1962 to the late Jack and Ann Tullos of Pearl. Mr. Tullos had one brother and three sisters. He worked for Trustmark National Bank and as a pharmacy technician for Kroger before he was diagnosed with this illness and had to undergo immediate surgery and spend the rest of his days taking radiation and chemotherapy treatments. He lived at home with his little love and companion, Molly.
Mr. Tullos loved spending time with his family, and he loved spending time outdoors working in his yard or helping anyone else who needed work in theirs. He was an active member of Keep Pearl Beautiful, ASPCA, and an avid supporter and contributor of CARA. According to his family, his never failing, non-judgmental attitude made him an excellent listener and problem solver.
Mr. Tullos is survived by his siblings, Jack Tullos of Pearl, Teresa Tullos Russell (Maurice) of Johns, Pam Tullos Baldwin (Ronnie) of Raleigh, Becky Tullos Jones (Troy) of Pearl and his daily companion, Molly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Robbie Russell (Vickie), Mark Russell (Jennifer), Shane Tullos, Ronnie Baldwin Jr, Jacob Jones, and Kristy Tullos Austin (Kevin) and great nieces and nephews: Logan, Dylan, Ruby and Robin Russell. He also leaves three loving aunts and two uncles, Virginia Tullos of Carthage, Pat Tullos Nichols (David) of Raleigh and Maggie Brown (Stan).
