The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at McLaurin Heights Baptist Church in Pearl. Bro. Paul Walker and Bro. Connor Alford will officiate.
Freddie was born in Memphis, Tennessee, but grew up in Jackson, Mississippi before making Pearl, Mississippi her home once she was married. She deeply loved her family, but above all she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was big hearted and kind, and she loved everyone she met as Jesus did. She served in many capacities as a member of Grandview Baptist Church and then as a member of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church. Her favorite was working VBS as she had such a heart for the children, and she would talk about it all year long. She also dedicated 17 years of her life to serving the truckdrivers as secretary at McCarty Holman who owned Jitney Jungle and Sack 'N Save many years ago.
She was preceded in death by parents, Dewey and Beatrice Caraway of Jackson; two grandchildren who left too soon; and her two brothers, Ralph Caraway and Rodney Caraway.
She is survived by her husband of almost 41 years, Van T. Youmans of Pearl; one daughter, Shannon Walker (Paul) of Pearl; four grandchildren, Riley Walker, Autumn Mae Walker, Titus Vanly Walker, and Eliza Grace Walker; one sister, Anita Wilson of Pearl; nieces, Dana Hampton of Pearl, Kaylyn Ashley Hampton and Katie Caraway; nephews, Justen Wilson, Nick Carrol, Jason Hoffman, Gabe Caraway, Tom Caraway, and Mark Caraway; and host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family.
