Uncle Junior has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I will miss his terribly, but am glad he is at peace with God now.  I can only 
imagine what a wonderful reunion there has been in heaven with family and friends.

Nell, I guess this is reason number 4 why being far away from home is simply no good.  I have thought of y'all everyday since our last visit.  Has it been almost a year already? To the family of Emmett Horn:  Losing a loved one in death is never easy but the Bible gives us what we need to cope.  It assures us that soon in God's new world, death, pain, and tears will be a thing of the past and that all mankind will live forever in God's new world.

I only met Mr. Horn once. I visited his home a few years ago with my daugther, Elizabeth Orlin. I found him to be a very friendly and warm man.  He shared many of his family pictures with me.  It was obvious that he really loved his family members. Lovely visit!

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another. 

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Emmett P. Horn, Jr. our “Brother-in-Arms”.   To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Emmett.   And to Emmett it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Korean War while serving in the U.S. Army.  Emmett, you are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction.  We bid you a sad farewell.  You will be dearly missed from among our ranks.  Be at Ease.  Rest in Peace.

I am grateful to have known and loved this man my whole life!!! He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, which showed in his actions!!! We will miss him sleeping AKA "just resting my eyes" and beating us at cards!!! He never missed a chance to take our money and point out his strategy was sometimes "more fun than winning"!!!
