The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:30am on Monday, February 27, 2023 Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. The funeral service will follow at 11:30am that same day in the funeral home chapel with burial at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
Joe was born on July 14, 1929 to the late Hannibal Astin Echols and Margaret Jordan Echols in Starkville, Mississippi. He attended Oktibbeha County Schools and graduated from Hinds Community College. Joe proudly served our country in the National Guard of Mississippi and as a Reserve of the Army of the United States from January 1951 until June 1953. He was a member of Pearl Presbyterian Church and enjoyed a long career as an automobile painter for car dealerships.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Williams Echols; brothers, Albert "Red" Echols (June) and William Sidney Echols (Jerry) and sisters, Dorothy Brooks Stephens (Johnnie) and Margaret Inez Lollar (Hubert).
Joe is survived by his sons, Eddie Echols and Larry Echols (Renee) and daughter, Gloria Echols.
