Born March 23, 1943, in Jackson, Mississippi, to the late James H. McGee and Virginia Haight McGee. Following his high school graduation Bobby proudly served our country with the U.S. Marines. In 1956 he met the love of his life, Patsy Ward. They married in 1969 and shared 53 beautiful years together.
Bobby enjoyed a lengthy career as an optician, working for Bausch and Lomb, Windham Optical, and Southern Optical where he retired.
A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Bobby worked hard to care for his family and to pass along his values of faith in Christ, dedication to family, service to country, and loyalty to labor. He was a longtime member of Pearl United Methodist Church. An avid fisherman and hunter, Bobby spent much of his free time at Lake Chotard or Eagle Lake, where he was affectionately known as “Snag”.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patsy McGee; son, Timothy Shane McGee and wife Marlena; grandchildren, Anna McGee, Hagen McGee, and Violet Newton; brother, Gary McGee; and sister, Linda Grant.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00am, Friday, October 14, 2022, at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
