Visitation will be from 11:00am until 1:00pm, Friday, July 10, 2020, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Charlene grew up in Pearl and attended Pearl High School. She was never without a smile and had an infectious laugh. She was always there for everyone to lean on, and was a true friend to anyone in need. She loved her family and friends fiercely, and it was not uncommon for her friends to call her “sister,” because when she loved you, you were a part of her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Frances Catherine Gilbert of Richland, and Dakota Sue Alford of Brunswick, Maine; parents, James H. Alford Jr. of Brandon, and Pamela F. Alford of Brandon; two grandsons that were the light of her life, Asher Burkes and Everett Linville; two sisters, Alayne Alford Iskander (Andre) of Spain, and Katie Alford Bell (Rocky) of Brandon; one nephew, Landon Swain, and three nieces, Kaitlyn Alford, Paige Jacks and Emily Jacks, all of whom she shared a very special and close bond with; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as her “adopted siblings.”
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James H. Alford and Peggy H. Alford from Pearl, and Joseph W. Ford and Marie C. Ford from Jackson.
