There could be no better way to sum up Chad Parker’s life than these four words. But then again, doesn’t that apply to each of us?
Chad Allen Parker was IMPERFECT. He was FLAWED. But he TRIED. And he SUCCEEDED. And sometimes he FAILED. But above all, he LOVED. Loved his family, his friends, and his country. Chad worked hard, played hard, and loved hard.
Chad was a sportsman through and through. At Pearl High School he played football and baseball. Later he coached his kid’s soccer and baseball teams. Like every athlete he endured wins, losses, and injuries. And Chad LOVED every minute of it.
Chad served in the U.S. Marine Corp, with two tours in Iraq under his belt, and witnessed war at its worst. Memories of atrocities the rest of us cannot imagine would not allow his spirit rest. But Chad LOVED his country and the citizens he fought to protect.
Chad was exceptionally proud of his work as a lineman for Chain Electric. He never backed down from the challenge of a 100 foot pole or a torrential storm, and he never complained about weekends and holidays spent restoring power to those in crisis. Chad LOVED his work as a power line technician.
Most of all Chad LOVED his family. Sometimes Chad struggled to show his LOVE, as his choices often caused worry and grief for his mother and siblings. Other times he delighted in time spent with his children and LOVED each of them in a special way.
Chad LOVED life and all it offered him- the good, the bad and the ugly. But in the end it all came down to LOVE.
Chad was preceded in death by his father, George Wayne Parker.
He is survived by his mother, Donalda Parker; children, Blake Parker, Aiden Jay Butler, Peyton Thomas “Mater” Parker, and Allie Rae Parker; brother, Coby Lane Parker; sister, JaNae’ Machelle Doyle; niece, Kynleigh Doyle; and nephew, Kyler Doyle.
Celebration of Life Services were held on Sunday, December 5, 2021. His family would like to recognize the following friends as honorary pallbearers: Mike Ellison, Travis Burrell, Robbie Powell, Roger Williams, Ricky Buie, Justin Holifield, and Josh Slawson.
His family’s wish for each of you is as follows:
We all have a past. We all have made choices that maybe weren’t the best ones. None of us are completely innocent, but we all get a fresh start every day to be a better person than we were yesterday.
Amen.
