Cecily was born October 8, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of the late William Charles and Christina French Charles.
She had planned to retire from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics on April 11, 2018, after more than 10 years of dedicated service.
Cecily was a faithful member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl where she enjoyed singing in the choir and was active in many church ministries, including RCIA, Christ Renews His Church, and Women of Faith. She was also a steadfast supporter of the St. Jude Prison Ministry. Cecily's passion was for the Cursillo Movement of Christianity, in which the Church helps individuals in discovering their potential and accepting their limitations, so they will direct their freedom with their conviction, reinforce their will with decisiveness and direct their friendship with the virtue of constancy in their day-to-day life, personally and with others.
Cecily will best be remembered for her caring spirit, the inspirational texts she sent, the big hugs she gave, and the huge laughs she shared. Her beautiful soul touched so many and she will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Cecily was preceded in death by her sister, Nan Carol Manley.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Anthony John "Tony" Kumor; sons, John Kumor and wife Bethany, and Stephen Kumor and wife Cheryl; brothers, William "Bill" Charles and wife Bonnie, and Stephen Charles and wife Joann; sisters, Christina Mary Kotrych and husband Jerry, and Suzanne Suarez and husband Skip; and grandchildren, Marcellus, Alyssa, Loreli, Seth, Eli, Abigail and Jillian Kumor.
