She was born on February 3, 1930 to the late William Bradley Halford and Annie Bell Brown Halford in Canton, Mississippi. Ann learned the phrase "labor of love" at an early age, as she grew up helping her family in their farming duties. After graduating high school, Ann entered the workforce and began fulfilling her role helping to provide for her family. As a wife to a military serviceman, she kept the family together through their frequent moves from base to base and even country to country. Ann retired from Sears after 20 years as a receiving clerk and was a loyal member of Oakdale Baptist Church in Brandon. Keeping up her own vegetable garden in the yard when she moved out and made her own home, she had a sweet disposition and enjoyed gifting her produce to others or cooking them into dishes to share with loved ones. Ann was a loving and strong Christian, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Luke Goolsby; six brothers; and one sister.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Debbie Goolsby and Linda Jones; son, Tracy Goolsby (Dawn); brother, Gene Halford; grandchildren, Ryan Goolsby and Amber Solano (Saul); great-grandchild, Nora Annabelle Solano; and a number of beloved extended family members and friends.
