Alice A. Lundquist, 86, loving mother, grandmother and sister died Saturday, February 11, 2012. Visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2012 from 5pm-7pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 1pm in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Alice was born March 20, 1925 in Gregory, SD to Swedish immigrants, Folke and Agda Adler. She was raised in Fresno, CA and was a 1943 graduate of Roosevelt High School. Alice worked for Dr. Carl Burkhart until she met her husband, Carl Lundquist, Jr. of Jackson, on a blind date while he was stationed in CA during his service in the Navy. They married in 1949 and moved to Jackson. Alice was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and played piano for many Sunday School classes. Alice was active in PTA at Whitfield Elementary, Hardy and Provine. She was a past member of the Federated Women’s Club, Hermitage Club, her bridge clubs, Las Cartas, Dix a Deux and Wednesday Club.
Alice’s husband and sister, Signe Burch of Foster City, CA preceded her in death.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Susan Stephens (Bobby) of Pearl; son, Steve Lundquist (Jennifer) and granddaughter, Haley of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Dale Adler (Darlene) of Destin, FL; and sister-in-law, Jeanette Bell (Roy) of Tuscaloosa, AL.
