Thomas Overson, 70 of Fayetteville, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2022 from brain cancer. He was born in Madison, WI to the late Martin Overson and Betty Melter Overson Dewey on August 26, 1951.
Tom is survived by Lori (wife); Nancy (daughter); Scott (son-in-law); James (brother); Debbie (sister-in-law); Ezekiel (grandson); Zachary (grandson); Zoey (granddaughter); Jessica (step-daughter); Jake (step-son); Erin (step-daughter); Jason (step-son); Penny (granddaughter); Margot (granddaughter); Michael (nephew); Sarah (niece); and Molly (niece).
Tom was an amazing loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He worked as a Forensic Chemist for the U.S. Government for 35 years. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with friends and family, creating beautiful gardens in his yard, refinishing furniture, and taking nature photos. He will be remembered for his quick wit, dry sense of humor, welcoming smile, uncanny luck at cards, and always being there for a friend when needed. His homemade pizza and brownies would make your mouth water. Tom was a faithful Christian and active member of All Saints Anglican Church in Fayetteville, GA. His presence in the narthex greeting all who entered on Sunday mornings will be greatly missed.
