Mary Ella Johnson

Mary Ella Johnson, born August 22, 1926 in Gary, Indiana, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. The daughter of Lewis Sanford, and Doxie Sanford, she was a graduate of Roosevelt High School Class of 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert L. Sanford, Rueben L. Sanford; and son, Brady Perry, Jr.

She successfully passed the medical board to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN), focusing on family health care(1950). Mary’s medical career spans from General Family Medicine, Hospital Emergency Room Treatment, and later expanding her career working in Pediatrics’ Children’s Allergies.

Upon moving to Georgia in the summer of 1992, Mary started and enjoyed her third career meeting and greeting folks at Wal-Mart, always with a smile. Her greatest desire was for her family to understand how precious Life is, and Death can come at any Time. Eternity is achieved through the Faith of God. Life is given at birth, and must be cared for and preserved as we are able until death. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Mary departed this life Saturday, January 26, 2013. She leaves to mourn her passing, her son, Hurley A. Perry, and daughter-in-law, Lucila J. Perry, of Peachtree City, G; grandson, Hurley Perry Jr. & family of Florida, Brady Williams & family of Peachtree City, GA; granddaughter, Janelle M. Wright & family of Georgia, Juanita Sanford of Oxnard, CA, Bobby Sanford & family of Oxnard, CA, Michelle Dean & family of Oxnard, CA; nieces and nephews, Joyce & family of Gary, IN, Janice & family of Gary, IN, Melvin & family of Anchorage, AK, Eugene Perry & family of New Orleans, LA, Nate Cain & family of Gary In, Marjorie E. Wilson of Richmond, VA, and Aurelia LeBlanc of Birmingham, AL.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA, with Deacon Tony Coumo officiating.
