Mrs. Marilyn Joy McQuerry Dowell, 86, of Newnan, GA went to be with our Lord on January 5, 2018. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 25, 1931 to the late James A. McQuerry, Sr. and Millie O. Young McQuerry. She was proceded in death by her parents; and brothers, J.D. McQuerry, James A McQuerry, Jr., and Wilbur McQuerry.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, James “Jim” R. Dowell, Jr.; daughters, Karen Joy Wyler (Bill), Tania Brooke, Lucinda Foley (Russ), and Gail Jones; grandchildren, Ashly Lord (Mark), Stafford Brooke IV (Colleen), Charles S. Benton, Jr. (Lindsey), Kelli Howard (Ryan), Dewey R. Jones III; Amanda Wyler Mazzo (Jason); and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church of Peachtree City. Interment will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home on Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 2:00pm-5:00pm.
Donations may be made to the Dowell Servant Leadership Scholarship at First Baptist Church of Peachtree City.
