Linda H. Pollok, 73, of Jonesboro, GA passed away peacefully on the morning of November 24, 2023, after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on July 20,1950 in Terre Haute, IN, the eldest child of the late William and Lydia Hillis.
As the daughter of an Army officer, she and her siblings were always moving - across the country and around the world. She ended up in Georgia for her senior year of high school. During that year (1968), she met Pete, who, after their second date, asked for her hand in marriage. They would marry in September of that year and it would be the start of a great romance that would last for over 55 years.
An artist from the time she could hold a brush, she always saw the world in a unique way. She studied at the Atlanta College of Art and at Clayton State. She taught art to the young and old for nearly 40 years. A master of many mediums, her paintings and other works are displayed in homes and businesses across the southeast.
Linda was a voracious reader of numerous subjects. This made it easy for her to slip into any conversation or discussion. Her sense of humor was infectious, and her easy-going nature and calm demeanor made her approachable. She loved going to Disney World with her family. Her favorite characters were Chip and Dale, and her picture is immortalized at EPCOT.
She was also a woman of faith who attended church services, sang in the choir, and (of course) taught art lessons. Not only did she go to church but, she also studied Christianity and other religions. She always wanted to know more.
Linda was a devoted wife, a caring mother, and a proud grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. We all miss her so much.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Pete; her son, Tom (Elizabeth): her daughter, Carrie (Mark); her granddaughters, Jade and Cora; her brother, Bill; and her sister, Pat. They will each cherish their memories of her, in their hearts, forever.
