Josh is survived by his parents, Scott and Cindy Ludwig; his brother, Justin (Esha), and nephew, Krischan. He is also survived by his aunt, Hope Ludwig; his uncle, Don Johnson (Diane), his uncle, Robert Johnson (Mary Lane); and many cousins and close friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Harvey and Gloria Ludwig, Fred and Christine Johnson, and Lee and Eva Martin.
Josh was born in Decatur, Georgia on October 21, 1985. He grew up in Peachtree City and graduated from Starr’s Mill High School and Kennesaw State University with a degree in management. He worked in the restaurant industry for several years and had recently transitioned into a career in behavioral health to help those that are struggling with sobriety.
As an infant the first pair of shoes he ever wore were athletic, leading to a lifelong love for sports as both spectator and participant. He scored a goal in his first soccer game at the age of four; he hit a home run in his first baseball game two years later; at seven he scored 30 points in his first basketball game; and the year after that he ran his first Peachtree Road Race. While growing up Josh played baseball, football, elite soccer, and elite basketball and competed for his high school’s basketball, track, and cross country teams. He loved his Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Braves, but most of all he loved his Florida Gators.
Josh loved spending time with his friends. He was fun loving and had the ability to light up a room and make everyone feel comfortable. Josh enjoyed most outdoor activities including hiking in the mountains and rafting on the rivers in north Georgia. He was a self-taught chef and enjoyed cooking for others.
Josh will be remembered for his generosity, his sense of humor, and kind and gentle soul. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all who knew him well.
The family will observe a private visitation with Josh; and a celebration of his life service will be held at a later date.
In honor of Josh’s memory, we ask you to please consider a donation to: Bridges of Hope, 74 C L Tucker Drive, Chauncey, Georgia 31011. Donations will go towards a recreation area for residents that will include basketball and volleyball courts and a special dedication to Josh.
