My favorite place to go was always to Georgia to visit my aunt, uncle, Noah and Jarod. Jarod loved to play games and got creative with it, for example he would play Minecraft but in real life and in the backyard with me whenever I’d visit. We would catch lizards, look at bugs, and enjoy the nature around us. Even during thanksgiving he always wanted all of the cousins to play a game together. He made scavenger hunts for us. I’m sure weeks after Thanksgiving my grandparents were probably still finding notes all around their house from the notes Ethan, Noah and myself couldn’t find. 

My favorite memory of Jarod was when he was in Ohio visiting, and he wanted to surprise me. My dad was parked waiting for me to get off the bus. I got off and went to the car. Out pops Jarod, and he gave me the biggest of hugs. I was so happy to see him, and I got to spend the whole day with him as well. We even created a song called Ohio. The lyrics went: Ohio, Ohio, Ohio, Ohio. He asked me to make him one for Georgia, so I did. The lyrics went: Georgia, Georgia, Georgia, oh Georgia.

Jarod was always so creative, and adventurous. He really cared about the people around him. I’m really going to miss him. I love you Jarod.

My heart is broken as I say goodbye to my little brother, Jarod. I’ll forever cherish the memories we shared, and I’m grateful for the time I had with him. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace, Jarod. Love you always.

To Jarod, 
I hope you know just how much you are loved and missed. I am so thankful for all the time we were able to spend together growing up. I will cherish all the times you let me play hot wheels with you, because I know just how much you loved your hot wheels. And man I’m so happy you couldn’t say Nikki when you were little and I became your “Mickey”. I will forever cherish that I got to be your Mickey. I’m thankful for all the times I got to hear you play the piano at the house, it was clear just how passionate you were about your music. 

I will never understand what you went through on a daily basis, and I am so sorry for that. I hope you know that you were so much more than your mental illness. You were a kind soul, a musician, a comedian, and dog lover, a sports fanatic, and so much more. I hope you are at peace now, and playing your music with your Dallas and Bailey by your side. I love you Jarod ❤️

Jarod, I am so sorry for what you had to experience with this horrible mental illness. 
I will never be able to know what you had to endure from that. I love you very much and I hope heaven is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. I hope you’re writing so much music up there 🤍

I am so, so sorry for your tremendous loss.  Don't know this family or Jerod personally - only tracked his journey over the last couple of months, and prayed and prayed for Jarod and his parents.

I remember all of us running around the field at flat creek before the fireworks and sitting all together watching them when it was finally time.

You always had such an outgoing personality that absolutely shined in every room you walked into.

this will forever be one of my favorite pictures of us. We were both two devious peas in a pod growing up. You got under my skin and i got under yours, but at the end of the day i love you like family and always will.

For Jarod:
Jarod, I only personally met you very briefly. However, the impact your far-too-short life has had on me is immeasurable & will last forever. Thanks to you and your wonderful family I have learned so much as a person, mom, & nurse. My children know all about you and have also learned so much from you. I hate you didn’t understand the impact you had on so many. 
 I look at all your pictures of you  growing up- with that  sweet smile as a joyful  little boy, and it is inconceivable that you would one day suffer the unimaginable diagnosis of schizophrenia. I am so so sorry. There are so many things about our earthly lives that are not fair,  that we cannot understand with our earthly minds. But you had and continue to have a purpose. You brought about so much kindness and love during your life and you will continue to do so. 
I know you fought a fight that we cannot imagine. The daily torture of a schizophrenic mind is far beyond what most can comprehend. We know. We understand. 
We will meet again, but until then we vow to make change in your name. We will do everything we can to make it better for those that do/will  battle this illness. You will always be missed and our hearts will always break thinking of all that could have been. Our hearts  will also break thinking of how society failed you in so many ways. We need to do better. I am sorry things were so hard for you and your family to get the help you needed. I promise we will make changes and I am sorry you had to leave before those changes could be made- but I understand. I know you are now at peace in your eternal home -in the arms of Jesus where you are  completely healed.
