Mrs. Hilda T. Godfrey, of Union City, died August 26, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband, Clay J. Godfrey, Sr.; daughter, Hilda Jacquelyn Godfrey; son, Clay J. Godfrey, Jr; grandson, Steven Elrod; and great granddaughter, Allie Godfrey.
Mrs. Godfrey is survived by her son, Tommy (Linda) Godfrey; daughters, Anita Wallace and Sybil (Richard) Elrod; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Harold Tribble, Dan Tribble, and Jimmy Tribble; sister-in-law, Belle Godfrey; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30 in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home Peachtree City with Minister Tony Sullivan officiating. Interment, College Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwest Christian Care, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, 30291 or Lester Road Christian Church, 3900 Newton Dr., Fairburn, GA 30213. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, August 29 from 4-7 p.m. Arrangements under the direction of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory, Peachtree City, GA.
