Hattie P. Tompkins, 100 years old, of Peachtree City, GA (formerly of Columbus, MS) passed away on February 1, 2022 at Somerby’s of Peachtree City. She was born in Hampton, TN (near Elizabethton) on May 13, 1921 to the late Hattie Pearl Meyers Pierce and Charles Edison Pierce.
Hattie loved to square dance with her husband, Frank, in Mississippi when they were younger. Earlier in her life, she taught 7th grade in Elizabethton straight out of college. She loved to read and go antique shopping but, most of all, she loved entertaining her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Frank McMurray Tompkins; daughter, Karen Atkinson; and her sisters, Florene "Piney" and Kathleen.
She is survived by her loving son, Keith Tompkins (Nancy); grandchildren, Ryan, Melissa, Holly, and Laurel; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Hattie loved everybody and will be missed dearly by her family.
