Mrs. Sharon Lynne Dillahunt, 74, of Peachtree City, GA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 23, 2018, after a long illness. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on November 21, 1943 to the late Earl and Lillian Hawk Garrety. Sharon dedicated her life to her children and husband. She was loving mother and wife as well as being an excellent seamstress, Sharon made much of the clothing her children wore while they were growing up. She was also well known for a pastry called bubble bread that she gave away to friends and neighbors at Christmas. She could make magic with only a skein of yarn and a crochet hook. Sharon loved making and giving away shawls and baby blankets. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lillian Garrety; her daughter, Cheryl Dillahunt; and sister, Darlene Knick.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 52 years, John O. Dillahunt; her son, Keith Dillahunt; and a sister, Cynthia Baldridge of Springfield, OH.
Funeral services will be held at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
