The daughter of the late James Columbus Hill and Lorena Cook Hill, Betsy was born on November 6, 1962 in Greensboro, NC. Her wit, intelligence, and determined work ethic brought her from the halls of Western Guilford High School and Guilford College to the top levels of Coca-Cola, where she recently retired after putting in 20 years of unmatched skill and dedication.
Her true passion, though, was music – playing piano and singing in several groups and church choirs in both Virginia and the Carolinas, even composing an original piece, and years spent teaching children’s choirs. This love of music was instilled in her children, who still carry this legacy and gift from her. She also had a deep fondness of cooking and tending to her flowers and with quite an eye for interior design – always wanting folks to feel welcome and appreciated when they came through her doors.
Betsy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, James, having just celebrated their 30 wonderful years of marriage recently. She is also survived by her beloved three sons: Ethan, Zach, and Justin; her two brothers, Jimmy and Johnny Hill; and her steadfast older sister, Darlene Hauser (Jeff), whose son, Jason (Logan) is Betsy’s only nephew.
Services will be held in the chapel at Carmichael-Hemperley-Funeral Home, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, GA at 3:00pm on Tuesday, December 20th. Visitation will precede the service at 2:00pm.
