Mrs. Anita Lucile Baker Haynes, 78, of Springfield, VA passed away on September 15, 2023 at Alexandria Hospital in Alexandra, VA. She was born to the late Virgil and Lucile Baker in East Point, GA on May 15, 1945.
Anita graduated from Russell High School and went on to attend Georgia State College. During her working career, she worked for Rich’s in Atlanta, GA, Crestar Bank in Virginia, and for the State of Virginia Taxation Department. She loved sewing, music, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeffery Kenneth Haynes; her parents; her brother, Virgil Baker; sisters-in-law, Elsa Baker and Betty Baker; and nephew, John Baker.
Anita is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Kenneth W. Haynes; sons, Richard Haynes (Blanca) and Michael Haynes (Niki); granddaughter, Ashley Haynes; brother, James Baker; sister, Mary Alice Dawwadi (Saleh); and nieces and nephews, Drennon Baker, Laura Miller, and Helen Skelton.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory in Peachtree City, GA. Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Bethany Cemetery in Fayetteville, GA at 3:00pm. We will meet at the grave at 2:50pm. **The family requests that if you want to send flowers, that you only flowers suitable for the cemetery.
