Sylvia Jean Phelps, 86, passed away August 5th 2018 at the Wellsprings Assisted Living in Ontario, Oregon. Services will be held at 11 am, Monday, August 13th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 10 – 11 am. Burial will follow at 1 pm PST at Mt. Sylvia was born January 29th 1932 in Baker, Oregon to Julia and Jeter Shepherd, she married the love of her life James E Phelps on Christmas Eve 1949 in Baker, Oregon. Sylvia’s career was being a loving mother and supporting wife which took her on many adventures through the years. Sylvia sadly lost her soul mate Jim in 2002.
Sylvia loved playing bridge, bingo, traveling, her dogs, friends and most of all her family. Sylvia was a genuine fighter she battled Multiple Sclerosis for over 50 years.
Sylvia leaves behind 4 grown children Larry (Peggy) of Payette, Garry (Val) of Council, Ken (Kathie) Fruitland and Julie of Boise, half-sister Mignon Shepherd of New York City, sister-in-law Ruthie (Bud) Crim of Baker City, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband.
