Christine M. (Novotny) Fink passed away unexpectedly at home, on Jan. 5, 2015 in Payette, at the age of 47. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, Jan. 17th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Christine’s life. Christine was born Dec. 7, 1967 in Sacramento, CA. She married Roger Fink in 1999; shortly thereafter they move to Wheatland, CA where they started C&R Dream Ranch. She enjoyed the challenge to break any horse and loved giving riding lessons to children; prior to that she worked as an optician. She was one of the youngest certified fire fighters in the state of California. Christine volunteered countless hours to animals, rescuing horses and working with the feral cat program in both California and Idaho. Her love of horses goes all the way back to childhood; one of her first jobs was paper delivery, which she did by horseback on her pony.
Christine is survived by her grandmother, Arrah Houseman of Penryn, CA; mother Gloria (Houseman) Christensen of Payette; brothers Dan (Lisa) Novotny of Payette and Ryan Novotny of Fruitland; Aunt Jennifer (Pete) Wolgemuth of Riverside, CA; uncles Bill Houseman and Gerald Houseman both of Penryn, CA; nephews Michael (Ashley) Novotny of Caldwell, Justin Novotny of Ontario, Jacob Novotny of Payette and Timothy Novotny of Fruitland; several other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that were all very dear to her. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Clarence Houseman of Penryn, CA; husband Roger Fink of Wheatland, CA; and father Jerry Novotny of Yuba City, CA.
