He graduated from Puyallup High in Washington, and played football for Oregon State and Washington State. Brent was a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (South Dakota).
Brent owned a construction company with his soul brother, Tom Wetzel, in Payette; and then was with Merlino Construction of Washington, D.C. where he primarily renovated and restored historic homes and buildings. He was currently running his own contracting business in the Washington, DC area.
He leaves behind his parents; his sister Heather Dawn Thompson, for whom he had the utmost love and respect; his much loved wife Ahniwake Rose; his beloved eleven-year old step-daughter Waleah (“Hummingbird” in Cherokee) Rose, and his most precious contribution to this world, four-year old daughter ThanagilaWin (“Hummingbird woman” in Lakota) “Tahna” Rose-Thompson.
A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery for family and friends on Saturday October, 14 at 2:00 pm, where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved maternal grandmother, Margaret Dolphus Dunn, for whom he never stopped mourning.
