Wiley W. Bard, 68 of Granville, passed away at Tuscany Gardens on December 23, 2012. Born on January 8, 1944 to the late Waid W. and Elsie Marie (Kemp) Bard in Columbus, Ohio. Wiley graduated from Mifflin High School in 1962, worked with his dad in Bard Roofing and Sheet Metal Company (Columbus) to gain skills as a master metal craftsman. After Katrina he was a cook for mission teams from Jersey Baptist Church for 12 trips to Louisiana, Mississippi and Kentucky. He was a member of “The Fisherman” at Jersey. He was known for his cooking skills especially his cowboy cookouts and hospitality. He was kind, generous, friendly and always ready with a humorous story. Wiley loved country music, thrift stores and flea markets. Survived by wife of 28 years Sandi (Montgomery) Bard, sister Ella Mae, sons Brian K. Bard and Matthew (Judy) Montgomery, grandchildren Brandon K. Bard, Samantha and Jacob Montgomery and Chase and Ally Payne, aunts Mae France; Nancy (Dale) Kemp, Nancy (Marvin) Kemp, Thelma Kemp, June Kemp and Ruth Kemp, Uncle George C. (Arbutus) Bard, numerous cousins. Preceded in death by daughter Molly Lynn Bard. Friends may call at The Jersey Baptist Church, 13260 Morse Rd., Pataskala on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 5 to 8pm. Funeral service on Thursday at the church at 10am with Pastor Phil Duncan officiating. Burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Alexandria, Ohio.
