Robert “Bob” Brown Thornton, 95, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, cousin, and friend passed away on Sept. 7, 2024. Born Sept. 25, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio. Survived by daughter Paula Hofmann, granddaughter Jenifer Owens-Morrison, son-in-law Mark Morrison and great-grandchild, a grandchild in Colorado, daughter in law Pam Hofmann, granddaughter Heather Hofmann, grandson Luke Hofmann, cousins Kathy Michels and Adam Michels and the Johnson family and son Bobby Thornton. Loved by many including friends, and staff at the Inn at Summit Trail. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Charlyne “Charlie” Thornton, son Doug Hofmann, mother Elsie L. (Van Fossen) Thornton, father Robert F. Thorton, and seven siblings. Bob was a proud veteran of the US Army. Bob worked for Columbus Southern Power Company (AEP) in 1952 retiring in 1984. Bob was a golfer, scoring a coveted hole in one, and became a ranger at Kyber Run Golf course. He was an avid sportsmen, fisherman, and woodworker. 32° Mason (lodge 804), and Scottish Rites Member. Bob was a founding member and elder at the Jersey Presbyterian Church. Calling hours Friday, Sept. 13, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. Celebration of life 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home. Private interment.
