Growing up I was a very blessed little girl. I had 3 uncles and a grandfather that took me on many adventures. My Uncle Bob was so intimidating to outsiders, but those of us who knew him, knew his soft side. Since I was old enough to get on his nerves I did, and he loved it. I remember riding in his old blue dodge, the floor boards rusted through and the smell of sweat and chewing tobacco. His trucks were always messy, and I didn't care not a bit I wouldn't hesitate to climb in with him and go wherever he wanted to go. When I was a kid he took me to bottle feed a couple calves he had gotten, and I remember it being the coolest experience for me because I loved the chance to live a little bit of farm life. One day I innocently asked him what their names were, to which he replied "lunch and dinner," I was traumatized as he just giggled. I have so many great memories of just his presence just being around him was always the best. I always felt safe when he was around. No one would mess with Uncle Bob. I hope that he truly knows how deeply he is loved, and how deeply he will be missed. 

My dearest uncle bob, you sir were a mountain of a man. You are the uncle that was one of a kind. You definitely taught me what hard work was. Those summers mixing mortar for you to spread was something else. I'll never forget what time we did spend together.  From riding in your old yellow Plymouth and your old dodge trucks to fishing with you and grandpa and uncle richie. Rest easy old man. I love you! 

He was always working. He would drop the kids off then come pick me up. We would work for a few hours then he would go drop the kids off. We would pour concrete floors, lay block, cut down trees for his wood burning stove. He let me put a gym in his garage and I would go over to just work out. He helped me work on my vehicles. He was always helping grandma Richard's. He came over to fix her couch after I broke it wrestling. Showed me how to do it. I learned so much from this man. I haven't seen him much the last 10 years but I will always cherish the time I was able to spend with him learning different things. One of the best men I have ever known. 

I have so many memories of Bob.  I can’t think of a time that he didn’t make me laugh. One night we were watching a new movie called American werewolf in London which really freaked me out, and after it went off we went bowling , well I got up to bowl and Bob was underneath the seats he reached out and grabbed  my leg I’m not sure where the ball went I just know I screamed he’s laying on the floor laughing  people are looking at me so I pointed at  him and said he did it he did it.  Another memory  when Kat was 2 Bob  lived in Whitehall and he called and asked if he could come and get her,  I told him that’s fine,  she wasn’t there a couple hours and he called me and said come get your kid she’s pulled down my curtains,  opened up my dishwasher, and water is flying everywhere,  and she keeps saying I’m hungry, I’m hungry. I told him well you can take care of one of the three things,  feed her.  I remember Bob telling me one time him and grandma Phillips headed to Florida and his car broke down so they hitchhiked the rest of the way. When  he got back  home he started laughing trying to tell me the story of her in her dress and tennis shoes trying to climb up into a semi he just couldn’t hardly tell it because  he was laughing so hard,  guess that tickled him , and I got tickled at him laughing trying to tell me the story. Probably my favorite story though, is the night he knocked on my door,  and I said “who is it” well when he said it’s me, of course I open the door, because it’s my brother … probably shouldn’t have,  because he had his mounted  deer head up by his face and chased me around my apartment, He lost it that night, I don’t think I have every really seen him laugh so hard, Only because he knew I hated dead stuffed things, and I had no where to go to get away from him, while he is chasing me with that thing. What a TURKEY!  Thank you big brother for all the memories. I will truly miss you. I love you and will see you in Heaven one day. ❤️

Although I did not know him personally, he always had a smile on his face when I would see him.  I am sure that smile touched many students and brightened their day.  I am truly sorry for your loss!  - Cheryl Crooks

Thank you Mr. Bob for taking such good care of our students. They loved you and we are so grateful for your kindness and care while getting them to and from school safely. We will miss you!!!

Sad to hear that you passed away.   

I enjoyed working with you and hopefully your at peace.....hard to imagine a man of your stature and health is gone.

What a great guy ,we worked at Reynoldsbug together for any years! Bob could do it all ! He help me personally on many project I’ve had. He will be missed by all! Praying for the family!🙏🏻
