Lyle Burton Peterman, 88, of Johnstown, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at his residence. He was born on August 15, 1930 in Johnstown, OH, a son to the late Francis and Ethel (Mentzer) Peterman. Lyle was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 285. He retired from United Telephone Company after 44 years of employment. Lyle was also a member of the Blue Lodge Center 86, past Grand Chaplain of the Grand Lodge of Ohio, Scottish Rite, York Rite and Aladdin Shrine. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary; children, Jeff (Brenda), Judy (Bob), Tig (Norma), Tony (Barb), Todd (Tami) and Traci (Randy); seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Paul (Shirley), Wayne (Julia) and Carol Ann (Cliff) and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Friends may call from 1-3 and 5-7 pm on Monday, January 7, 2019 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062, Masonic Lodge services will be held at 6:30 pm. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday at Summit Station United Methodist, 6626 Summit Rd. SW, Pataskala, OH 43062, with Pastor Clark Hess officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the start of service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
