Joyce Lee Moore went to her eternal resting place on Wednesday, September 18th surrounded by her family at age 82. Joyce was an incredible woman of God, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She exuded true joy and light, much like her nickname “Joy” implied. She didn’t know a stranger and if someone she loved also loved you, well then she loved you too, it’s just who she was. Joyce was employed at Western Electric/AT&T for 30 years where she made countless lifelong friends.
She will be well remembered for her love of fishing and being able to out fish any fisherman on the water. Joyce loved to teach her grandkids and great grandkids all about how to fish, bait and reel them in. Spending time at Lake Erie, in Michigan salmon fishing and even an adventure in Alaska fishing, she loved being on the water. Joyce also loved to travel, she and her husband enjoyed 62 years of adventures traveling the country in an RV, going on cruises, trips to Hawaii. She also relished in vacations with her daughter, son in law and granddaughters with adventures to Aruba and the Dominican Republic well into her 70s. She was most excited about her next adventure being a flower granny in her granddaughter’s December 2024 wedding.
Some of the things family members say they will miss the most will be the comfort and love she provided in some of life’s hardest moments. Her words of encouragement and support made her the perfect matriarch of her family. She also gave the best hugs that just made everything better.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 63 years, Ronald Moore; daughter, Teresa “Moore” (Greg) Livingston; granddaughters, Samantha “Livingston” (Travis) Yocum, Kaitlan “Livingston” (Nicholas) Merz, Tayler Livingston (Dylan Salyers); two great grandchildren, Cameron and Addalynne Merz; sisters, Hester “Wiley”(Kenneth) Pincelli, Betty “Wiley” Brooks , Diana “Wiley” Clonch and brother, Owen Wiley along with many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Curtis Wiley; mother, Bessie “Vance” Wiley; brothers, Audley Wiley, Curtis “Ras” Wiley Jr. and William “Billy” Wiley. While we will miss her here on Earth, we know the reunion in Heaven is such a joyous occasion.
